Gemma Cumming graduated in 2006 from Loughborough University (School of Art and Design) with a BA in Fine Art. She has since been in numerous exhibitions and sold work to public collections. Her work deals with notions of anticipation and tourism, utilising tourist images to create giant painted postcards with an ominous twist.
Currently her focus is London and its tourist sites. She has so far visited most of Central London from Piccadilly Circus to Tower Bridge and many other areas. Her most recent work is based on Notting Hill.
She also did a special series of paintings for the “Festival of Words” organised by Farnham Maltings in June 2007.
